Apply for this jobA note before you apply
RankStudio is small on purpose. We do not take more clients than we can serve well, and we do not hire faster than we can integrate someone into the work. This role is an investment hire: we are looking for one exceptionally bright junior person and we may not fill it this round if we do not find the right match. Sharing the specifics below so you can decide whether it is worth your time.
What we do
We are an AI consulting studio. Our clients include US life-sciences and biotech companies, and the work we help them with is the business side of biotech: regulatory affairs, quality, clinical operations, medical affairs, and the office workflows around them. Documents, review cycles, correspondence, training. Not lab science. Our engagements are multi-month, analytical, and written-output-heavy.
The idea behind this role
We are hiring for raw ability, not experience. This is a junior role with a consultant track: we will train you on the client work, the domain, and the craft. Our screening is modeled on how the top strategy consulting firms hire, which means we care about how you think, how clearly you write, and what you have done when nobody was watching. We do not care whether you have held a job like this before, and we do not require any biotech knowledge on day one.
What you will actually do
- Review and quality-check consulting content and AI-generated drafts against source material. Find the hallucinations, the framing errors, the missing context.
- Create AI-enablement materials for client teams: step-by-step guides, training decks, workshop exercises, prompt libraries, one-page playbooks.
- Take a messy office workflow (document drafting, review cycles, regulatory correspondence) and turn it into a documented AI-assisted process with clear rules about what may and may not go into a model.
- Track whether the client teams actually adopt what we ship, gather feedback, and iterate.
- Learn the regulatory and office side of US biotech on the job, from our senior team and from the work itself.
- As you grow, join client meetings live during US business hours.
What we screen for
We look for evidence of ability that does not depend on what your family could pay. Signals that carry real weight with us:
- Philippine Science High School alumnus.
- DOST-SEI scholarship, or any competitive government or academic merit scholarship taken to completion.
- Latin honors (Summa, Magna, or Cum Laude) from UP (any campus), PUP, or any university where you held a merit scholarship.
- Board exam topnotcher or high passer.
- Math, science, or informatics olympiad results; ACM ICPC; national debate or extemporaneous speaking titles.
- Valedictorian or salutatorian of a public high school.
- Fresh graduates are welcome. So are people a few years out who feel underused where they are.
If your background looks different but you believe you can do the work, the mini-case in the application is where you make that case. We read every application that completes it.
Practical requirements
- Fluent, sharp written English. Most of this role is writing.
- Comfortable spoken English on video calls.
- You already use Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools for real work beyond casual chat, or you can show us you learn tools unusually fast.
- You can work hours that overlap US business time (night shift in the Philippines), Monday to Friday.
- Full-time or part-time both work. Tell us which you want in the application.
What this role is not
This is not a virtual assistant, BPO, customer service, or data entry role. It is not a software engineering role and not a scientific research role. If you want execution under direction, there are many strong opportunities of that kind in the Philippines. We are hiring for judgment, initiative, and the ability to explain things clearly.
How we screen
Our process is modeled on top consulting firm hiring: the application below (including a short mini-case), a timed assessment, a practical work sample where AI tools are allowed, and interviews. It is more demanding than a typical application. That is the point.
Compensation and working conditions
- USD 1,200 to 2,000 per month full-time, roughly PHP 68,000 to 114,000 at current exchange rates. Part-time is possible and pro-rated.
- 100% remote, Philippines-based.
- Full AI tooling stack provided: Claude, plus any other tool you can justify.
- 2 weeks paid vacation per year (full-time).
- Night shift overlapping US business hours, Monday to Friday. The exact window is agreed at offer.
- The range above is real and we will pay it openly. Where you land in it depends on what you show us in the process, not on negotiation skill.
